Na'vi Girl

I recently discovered Nomad Sculpt and Zbrush for iPad and decided to give them a try! I started by making a base sculpt in Nomad Sculpt, and then I retopologized this mesh using Maya's Quad-Draw tool. Around this time, I discovered ZBrush for iPad, so I decided to use this for sculpting skin details.

This was my first attempt at using hair cards, and they certainly are a process! I have been wanting to explore hair for a while, so it was a great learning experience. I used FiberShop to make the hair textures and Maya's Sweep Mesh tool to create the cards.

For the eyes, I created a low-poly version in Maya and then sculpted details using ZBrush for a high-to-low poly bake.

Once completed, I put this piece into Marmoset and experimented with lighting and material settings, utilizing features such as Subsurface Scattering.

This project was completed using Nomad Sculpt, Maya, ZBrush, FiberShop, Substance Painter, and Marmoset Toolbag 5.
